Supporting families in NYC since 2020
I am a mother, an artist, ceramicist and postpartum doula in Ridgewood, NY.
After my first experience with pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum I felt an impulse to pursue a career in birthwork. I trained as a birth and labor doula with Carriage House Birth and afterward found that I had a calling for postpartum work!
My Approach
Welcoming a new baby is a beautiful, overwhelming, and often exhausting journey—and I’m here to walk alongside you every step of the way. As a postpartum doula, my goal is to support both you and your little one, helping you feel seen, heard, and confident in caring for your newborn. I bring a combination of hands-on guidance, practical knowledge, and genuine compassion to every family I work with.
My approach is centered on caring for the whole family—not just your baby. I believe every parent deserves to feel seen, heard, and supported as they recover, adjust, and grow into their new role. Whether you need reassurance after a difficult birth, guidance through feeding challenges, or simply a chance to rest while knowing your baby is in caring hands, I'm here to help.
I combine evidence-based newborn care education with a nurturing presence, helping parents build confidence in their instincts and abilities. My goal is not to take over, but to empower you with the knowledge, skills, and the support you need to feel comfortable caring for your baby long after our time together ends.
Personalised Care
Every family is unique, and I tailor my support to meet you where you are.
Non-Judgmental
I strive to create a calm, supportive space where both you and your baby can thrive.

During our time together, I provide:

If your family cannot meet these price points, I encourage you to reach out. We may be able to work something out, or I can connect you with additional resources. My mission is to ensure every parent has access to the support they need in these early weeks.
P.S Every Friday from 9am to 10am I facilitate a New Parent group at Funny Goose in Ridgewood, Queens. This meeting is free to all and all are welcome, no RSVP needed. Come to play, share that weird thing your baby does and meet the other parents in that group chat. The goal is to make community and provide support, come join us!
In addition I offer photography sessions…

Newborn photography: Sliding scale $250–$400. 1 ½ to 2 hour session. In home or at hospital.
Reviews
“I don’t know what we would have done without Damaris. First night, she asked me how I was and listened as I cried and recounted what was a hard delivery. She carefully and thoughtfully asked if holding my baby would be helpful and gave me something I so needed but didn’t realize - someone to see me and hear me.”
- LC“Hands on with a light touch and just helped me trouble shoot any issues I had with latching. When she wasn’t with us she’d check in throughout the day and we’d troubleshoot anything that came up. What felt so difficult in breastfeeding became more second nature after working with Damaris. Instead of doomsday googling, I’d ask Damaris. ”
- IS“Legitimately exudes goddess energy. Around Damaris I felt safe and at ease.”
